`Arc` is already a reference internally, so it does not seem to be
beneficial to pass a reference to it. Just adds an extra layer of
indirection.
Functions that need to be able to increment `Arc` reference count need
to take `Arc<AtomicBool>`, but those that just want to read the
`AtomicBool` value can accept `&AtomicBool`, making them a bit more
generic.
This change focuses specifically on `Arc<AtomicBool>`. There are other
uses of `&Arc<T>` in the code base that could be converted in a similar
manner. But it would make the change even larger.
Snapshot construction and interaction code was a bit more manual than necessary, even causing a bug to slip past a review. Separated snapshot construction from the diffing of two snapshots.
This should make the logic clearer.
A recent change to this service to store the number of non-vote
transactions introduced a bug in the computation of the number of
transactions during the time interval. This resulted in bogus values
being stored in Blockstore and eventually getting served through RPC for
the TPS chart on explorer.
Store non-vote transaction counts that are now recorded by the banks
into the `blockstore`.
`SamplePerformanceService` now populates `PerfSampleV2` with counts from
the banks.
* Add blockstore column to store performance sampling data
* introduce timer and write performance metrics to blockstore
* introduce getRecentPerformanceSamples rpc
* only run on rpc nodes enabled with transaction history
* add unit tests for get_recent_performance_samples
* remove RpcResponse from rpc call
* refactor to use Instant::now and elapsed for timer
* switch to root bank and ensure not negative subraction
* Add PerfSamples to purge/compaction
* refactor to use Instant::now and elapsed for timer
* switch to root bank and ensure not negative subraction
* remove duplicate constants
