* [10948]: Add changelog entry.
* [10948]: Deprecate the types.DBBackend variable and the NewLevelDB function. Create a NewDB function to replace them.
* [10948]: Add a DBBackend string to the simulation config and a flag for setting it. Update the simulation setup to use that instead of the compile-time DBBackend variable.
* [10948]: Update the mock app creator to use the NewDB function. Not sure what to do about the db backend in that case though.
* [10948]: Update changelog to reflect new db-backend field name.
* [10948]: Use the tendermint db-backend type for the snapshot db.
* [10948]: Update the last use of NewLevelDB by adding a parameter to openDB and uppdating calls to that to provide the db type to use.
* [10948]: Upddate the NewDB function to also have a default db backend type if an empty string is provided there.
* [10948]: Remove the new TODO in mock.NewApp. After looking through it's uses, there doesn't seem to be any desire to change it, and there's no easy way to communicate it.
* [10948]: Enhance the NewDB defer function to also add info to any err that is being returned.
* [10948]: Add some unit tests for NewDB.
* [10948]: Lint fixes.
* [10948]: Add a changelog entry to the deprecated section.
* [10948]: Update the makefile to no longer set the types.DBBackend value.
* [10948]: Use memdb for the mock app instead of goleveldb. I know it was a goleveldb before, but for a mock app, a memdb feels like a better choice (assuming 'mock' and 'mem' mean what I assume they mean).
* [10948]: Fix the store benchmark tests (had some index-out-of-range issues).
* [10948]: Fix cachekv store bench test calling iter.Key() before checking iter.Valid().
* [10948]: Remove the panic recovery from types.NewDB since dbm.NewDB returns an error now (it didn't originally, when NewLevelDB was first written).
* [10948]: Add changlog entry indicationg an API breaking change due to the DBBackend change.
* [10948]: Get rid of the types.NewDB function in favor of just using the tm-db version of it.
* [10948]: Fix Update the codeql-analysis github action to use go v1.17.
* [10948]: Add config file option for the app db backend type.
* [10948]: Adjust the comment on the app-db-backend config entry to clarify fallback behavior.
* [10948]: Add a default of GoLevelDBBackend to GetAppDBBackend. The old DBBackend variable defaulted to that, and some unit tests assume that behavior still exists.
* [10948]: Add the missing quotes around the app-db-backend value.
* [10948]: Small tweak to the changelog's deprecated entry.
* Add the go version declaration back into the codeql-analysis github action.
* [10948]: Update new use of openDB.
* [10948]: Put a brief delay after closing the test network. Hopefully that helps with address-in-use and non-empty directory errors.

## Description
Closes: #11092
## TODOs
I'm thinking to do the 2 todos in a separate PR, or else this PR is too big. WDYT?
- [ ] #11246 This involves adding a new index ProposalsByVotingPeriodEnd, so might be better to do in another PR
- [ ] #11245 Also should be done in a separate PR (as it needs the above index)
### Main change 1: Group policy proto defs have `voting_period` and `min_execution_period`
For group policies:
```diff
- // Within this times votes and exec messages can be submitted.
- // timeout is the duration from submission of a proposal to the end of voting period
- google.protobuf.Duration timeout = 2 [(gogoproto.stdduration) = true, (gogoproto.nullable) = false];
+ // voting_period is the duration from submission of a proposal to the end of voting period
+ // Within this times votes can be submitted with MsgVote.
+ google.protobuf.Duration voting_period = 2 [(gogoproto.stdduration) = true, (gogoproto.nullable) = false];
+ // min_execution_period is the minimum duration after the proposal submission
+ // where members can start sending MsgExec. This means that the window for
+ // sending a MsgExec transaction is:
+ // `[ submission + min_execution_period ; submission + voting_period + max_execution_period]`
+ // where max_execution_period is a app-specific config, defined in the keeper.
+ // If not set, min_execution_period will default to 0.
+ google.protobuf.Duration min_execution_period = 3 [(gogoproto.stdduration) = true, (gogoproto.nullable) = false];
```
### Main Change 2: We don't update proposal's FinalTallyResult result on MsgVote/MsgSubmitProposal
Unless the msg has TryExec set to true, in which case the FinalTallyResult is updated ONLY if the tally is final.
### Main Change 3: Add a keeper-level `MaxExecutionPeriod`
MsgExecs will be rejected if they are sent after `voting_period_end + MaxExecutionPeriod`

## Description
Closes: #10995
Adds `Min()` and `Max()` operations on `sdk.Coins` for per-denom minimum and maximum.
Replaced an example of manual low-level construction of `Coins` with higher-level operators.
Upcoming enhancements to vesting accounts make heavy use of this pattern.

## Description
Small documentation improvement. By reading the function header I thought `forVersion` will mean the `destination` and made a bug. So, I propose to use more clear function argument name: `forVersion` -> `fromVersion`.

## Description
This adds support for registering gRPC query server implementations that were generated using pulsar. It should make integration with the ORM easier.
This should be backportable.
This does not enable support for pulsar msg servers or tx's.

## Description
This:
* addresses an issue with the way `WrapSDKContext` was done in that it doesn't use the `context.Context` that is already inside `sdk.Context`
* it allows `sdk.Context` to be used as a `context.Context` directly
* it also walks back the deprecation of `Value` and `WithValue` from #4706 as I actually think these are useful, and trying to put everything directly into `Context` as a bag of variables rather than attaching it using something like `WithValue` makes the SDK less extensible

## Description
The `DecCoins.MulDecTruncate` function is supposed to panic instead of returning `nil` when multiplier `d` is zero. This fixes that behavior and updates the related test `decCoinTestSuite.TestDecCoins_MulDecTruncate` to expect a panic when multiplier `d` is zero.

## Description
This PR:
* moves all of the `types/errors` code to a new `errors` go module, except:
* the `RootCodespace` errors in `types/errors` stay there
* ABCI stuff that depends on tendermint stays in `types/errors
* adds aliases to everything in `types/errors` referencing `errors` so **this is not a breaking change**
This will allow standalone go modules to use the same error types as the SDK. In particular, I want the `orm` to reference `errors` and then the SDK will be able to import `orm` and it can stay standalone. The same could apply to the `db` module.
After this PR the plan is to:
* tag `github.com/cosmos/cosmos-sdk/errors` as `v1.0` 🎉
* remove the `replace` directive for `errors` in the main SDK `go.mod`

it'd also be good to add more fine-grained tracking of individual migrations,
but there doesn't seem to be a quick way of doing it.
Perhaps the best is to leave it to each migration implementation
to add its own internal logging?

## Description
We start to adopt acceptance tests when designing new module. We had few internal sessions on how to do and started to practice it.
We should better document the process and start requiring it with new documents.

## Description
Closes: #10484
This PR makes the following big changes:
### 1. Change the tx.Handler interface
```diff
- CheckTx(ctx context.Context, tx sdk.Tx, req abci.RequestCheckTx) (abci.ResponseCheckTx, error)
+ CheckTx(ctx context.Context, req tx.Request, checkReq tx.RequestCheckTx) (tx.Response, tx.ResponseCheckTx, error)
// same for Deliver and Simulate
```
where:
```go
type Response struct {
GasWanted uint64
GasUsed uint64
// MsgResponses is an array containing each Msg service handler's response
// type, packed in an Any. This will get proto-serialized into the `Data` field
// in the ABCI Check/DeliverTx responses.
MsgResponses []*codectypes.Any
Log string
Events []abci.Event
}
```
### 2. Change what gets passed into the ABCI Check/DeliverTx `Data` field
Before, we were passing the concatenation of MsgResponse bytes into the `Data`. Now we are passing the proto-serialiazation of this struct:
```proto
message TxMsgData {
repeated google.protobuf.Any msg_responses = 2;
}
```

Integrate Tendermint v0.35.0, including changes to build and test
plumbing necessary to make everything build. This change does not
update any SDK APIs to make use of new features.

## Description
Closes: #10443
For creating an intermediary/auxiliary tx (e.g. by the tipper in tipped transactions), using the existing `client.TxBuilder` is awkward. We propose a new client-side builder for this purpose.
API Usage (e.g. how the tipper would programmtically use this):
```go
// Note: there's no need to use clientCtx.TxConfig anymore!
bldr := clienttx.NewAuxTxBuilder()
err := bldr.SetMsgs(msgs...)
bldr.SetAddress("cosmos1...")
bldr.SetMemo(...)
bldr.SetTip(...)
bldr.SetPubKey(...)
err := bldr.SetSignMode(...) // DIRECT_AUX or AMINO, or else error
// ... other setters are available
// Get the bytes to sign.
signBz, err := bldr.GetSignBytes()
// Sign the bz using your favorite method.
sig, err := privKey.sign(signBz)
// Set the signature
bldr.SetSig(sig)
// Get the final auxSignerData to be sent to the fee payer
auxSignerData, err:= bldr.GetAuxSignerData()
```
auxSignerData is a protobuf message, whose JSON reprensentation looks like:
```json
{
"address": "cosmos1...",
"mode": "SIGN_MODE_{DIRECT_AUX,LEGACY_AMINO_JSON}",
"sign_doc": {
"body_bytes": "{base64 bytes}",
"public_key": {
"@type": "cosmos.sepc256k1.PubKey",
"key": "{base64 bytes}"
},
"chain_id": "...",
"account_number": 24,
"sequence": 42,
"tip": {
"amount": [{ "denom": "uregen", "amount": 1000 }],
"tipper": "cosmos1..."
}
},
"sig": "{base64 bytes}"
}
```
Then the fee payer would use the TxBuilder to construct the final TX, with a new helper method: `AddAuxSignerData`:
```go
// get auxSignerData from AuxTxBuilder
auxSignerData := ...
txBuilder := txConfig.NewTxBuilder()
err := txBuilder.AddAuxSignerData(auxSignerData)
// Set fee payer data
txBuilder.SetFee()
txBuilder.SetGasLimit()
txBuilder.SetFeePayer()
sigs, err := txBuilder.GetSignaturesV2()
auxSig := sigs[0] // the aux signer's signature
// Set all signer infos (1st round of calling SetSignatures)
txBuilder.SetSignatures(
auxSig, // The aux SignatureV2
signing.SignatureV2{...}, // The feePayer's SignatureV2
)
// Sign
signBz, err = encCfg.TxConfig.SignModeHandler().GetSignBytes(...)
feepayerSig, err := feepayerPriv.Sign(signBz)
// Set all signatures (2nd round of calling SetSignatures)
txBuilder.SetSignatures(
auxSig, // The aux SignatureV2
signing.SignatureV2{feepayerSig, ...}, // The feePayer's SignatureV2
)
```

## Description
When running simulation tests with wasmd I am running into this error: 14e58bfa81/x/wasm/types/types.go (L258)
This is because when we are running in simulation mode we randomly create a date before the year 9999. However, if a date is after the year 2262 `UnixNano` will overflow and possibly return a negative number. To fix this I updated how we set the random genesis start time to be between the epoch and 200 years from now which means this error won't show itself again for another 40+ years.
Closes: #10466

## Description
ref: https://github.com/cosmos/cosmos-sdk/issues/9237, https://github.com/cosmos/cosmos-sdk/discussions/9156
This is the first step towards the migration of the [Table-Store (ORM) package](c99dbedd1f/orm) currently in regen-ledger into the SDK. This won't be exposed as a public API to start with but rather be internal to `x/group`.
This first PR brings these core concepts:
- `table` is the high level object for storage mapper functionality where entities are stored by an unique identifier called `RowID`
- `Indexable` types can be used to setup new tables.
There will be follow-up PRs for adding the following features:
- table types with auto-incrementing `uint64` primary keys and natural primary keys
- secondary indexes
- iterator and pagination
- import/export genesis

Revert #10268
As part of the TX working group, we decided not to introduce a new sign mode for tipper signing. The tipper will use amino-json to sign via ledger (see #10346).
Also, add `signing.SignerData#Address` (will be used in subsequent PR #10346)

## Description
Closes: #10333
Added a loop that checks for zero coins before making any memory allocations. If no zero coins are found, just return the `coins` slice as is. If a zero coin is found, then allocate the new array, stop looking for the first zero, and restart the loop to "remove" the 0's.

## Description
It is possible to submit a TX with a fees object containing a Coin with a nil amount. This results in a rather cryptic redacted panic response when the basic validation checks fee Coins for negative amounts.
This PR adds an additional check for nil to provide a friendlier error message.

## Description
Closes: #8961
SDK allows InitGenesis to return with an empty validator set. In practice, the error for an empty validator set gets thrown in tendermint. To fix this,
* Add non-empty validator set check to the `mm.InitGenesis` function. This will break `simapp.Setup` because it relies on an empty validator set [#comment](https://github.com/cosmos/cosmos-sdk/pull/8909#issuecomment-804850834).
* Update `simapp.Setup` to use a single validator.
* Fix failing tests (Most of them are keeper tests).
