## Description
This PR introduces a getter for the keyring backend type used in the keyring config. This is useful to disable endpoints whenever the keyring `test` backend is used. This is a workaround since the SDK keyring dependency doesn't support locking accounts. See https://github.com/99designs/keyring/issues/85 for context.
Attack on ethereum that affects Ethermint chain validators/nodes using `keyring_backend=test`, making their funds remotely accessible via `eth_sendTransaction`

State migration from iavl to smt
This migration works on upgrade handler
```go
app.registerUpgradeHandlers()
func (app *SimApp) registerUpgradeHandlers() {
// This is the upgrade plan name we used in the gov proposal.
upgradeName := "iavl-to-smt-upgrade"
app.UpgradeKeeper.SetUpgradeHandler(upgradeName, func(ctx sdk.Context, plan upgradetypes.Plan, _ module.VersionMap) (module.VersionMap, error) {
fromVM := map[string]uint64{
...
}
err := store2.MigrateV2(iavlStore, v2Store)
if err != nil {
return fromVM, err
}
return app.mm.RunMigrations(ctx, app.configurator, fromVM)
})
}
* [10948]: Add changelog entry.
* [10948]: Deprecate the types.DBBackend variable and the NewLevelDB function. Create a NewDB function to replace them.
* [10948]: Add a DBBackend string to the simulation config and a flag for setting it. Update the simulation setup to use that instead of the compile-time DBBackend variable.
* [10948]: Update the mock app creator to use the NewDB function. Not sure what to do about the db backend in that case though.
* [10948]: Update changelog to reflect new db-backend field name.
* [10948]: Use the tendermint db-backend type for the snapshot db.
* [10948]: Update the last use of NewLevelDB by adding a parameter to openDB and uppdating calls to that to provide the db type to use.
* [10948]: Upddate the NewDB function to also have a default db backend type if an empty string is provided there.
* [10948]: Remove the new TODO in mock.NewApp. After looking through it's uses, there doesn't seem to be any desire to change it, and there's no easy way to communicate it.
* [10948]: Enhance the NewDB defer function to also add info to any err that is being returned.
* [10948]: Add some unit tests for NewDB.
* [10948]: Lint fixes.
* [10948]: Add a changelog entry to the deprecated section.
* [10948]: Update the makefile to no longer set the types.DBBackend value.
* [10948]: Use memdb for the mock app instead of goleveldb. I know it was a goleveldb before, but for a mock app, a memdb feels like a better choice (assuming 'mock' and 'mem' mean what I assume they mean).
* [10948]: Fix the store benchmark tests (had some index-out-of-range issues).
* [10948]: Fix cachekv store bench test calling iter.Key() before checking iter.Valid().
* [10948]: Remove the panic recovery from types.NewDB since dbm.NewDB returns an error now (it didn't originally, when NewLevelDB was first written).
* [10948]: Add changlog entry indicationg an API breaking change due to the DBBackend change.
* [10948]: Get rid of the types.NewDB function in favor of just using the tm-db version of it.
* [10948]: Fix Update the codeql-analysis github action to use go v1.17.
* [10948]: Add config file option for the app db backend type.
* [10948]: Adjust the comment on the app-db-backend config entry to clarify fallback behavior.
* [10948]: Add a default of GoLevelDBBackend to GetAppDBBackend. The old DBBackend variable defaulted to that, and some unit tests assume that behavior still exists.
* [10948]: Add the missing quotes around the app-db-backend value.
* [10948]: Small tweak to the changelog's deprecated entry.
* Add the go version declaration back into the codeql-analysis github action.
* [10948]: Update new use of openDB.
* [10948]: Put a brief delay after closing the test network. Hopefully that helps with address-in-use and non-empty directory errors.
Current grpc happens to be concurrent, while the grpc gateway itself is not, since it always uses abci query. Therefore, as the current queries are not concurrent, throughput has the room for improvement. This PR changes the grpc gateway so that when server is ran by a node daemon, it directly calls grpc to make queries concurrent. Any services that uses grpc gateway could improve throughput by fundamental amount, which has been tested and ensured in the process of running an Osmosis node using the current chagnes.
The code base has the following changes:
- GRPCClient field has been added to Client Context.
- The `Invoke` method in Client Context would use ABCI query when GRPCClient field is set to nil, otherwise use the GRPC Client to return results that have used grpc.
- If GRPC is set to enable in `startInProcess`, it sets the GRPC Client field in Client Context.
## Description
Closes: https://github.com/cosmos/cosmos-sdk/issues/10386
This PR adds feature to the bank module so that other modules using bankKeeper would be able to call the keeper with restricted permissions when minting coins. `WithMintCoinsRestriction` would be able to get called within app.go when setting keeper components for each individual keeper, taking a function that would validate minting denom as an argument.
The example below demonstrates adding bank module with restricted permissions.
```
app.DistrKeeper = distrkeeper.NewKeeper(
appCodec, keys[distrtypes.StoreKey], app.GetSubspace(distrtypes.ModuleName), app.AccountKeeper, app.BankKeeper.WithMintCoinsRestriction(DistributionMintingRestriction),
&stakingKeeper, authtypes.FeeCollectorName, app.ModuleAccountAddrs(),
)
```
while there would be a seperate function that would restrict and validate allowed denoms as such.
```
func DistributionMintingRestriction(ctx sdk.Context, coins sdk.Coins) errors {
for _, coin := range coins {
if coin.Denom != ctx.NativeStakingDenom {
return errors.New(fmt.Sprintf("Distribution can only print denom %s, tried minting %s", ctx.NativeStakingDenom, coin.Denom))
}
}
}
```
The sdk's simapp currently does not have any keepers that are to be changed with this implementation added, thus remaining unchanged in `app.go`.
## Description
Normally keyring module creates two record for each public key created in keyringdb.
The first one with an address as a key witch contains only name of the second key, wich actually contains a public key
But a couple of times we have faced an issue, when the first record exists, and the second for some reason does not.
In such case you are unable to import public key due to error
$ go run ./cmd/terrad/ keys --keyring-backend kwallet add swelf --pubkey '{"@type":"/cosmos.crypto.secp256k1.PubKey","key":"Ap1W7ww/FaZVpAd487QUVXh7Nmxk4FlREr5IGPuzEnJu"}'
Error: public key already exists in keybase
```
in the same time terrad cli do not see any keys in the keyring
```shell
$ go run ./cmd/terrad/ keys --keyring-backend kwallet list
[]
```
The error occurs when the record with address still exists in the keyring db.
I would like to resolve the error.
I see at least three different ways to do it.
1) Informing the user about situation and recreate public key
```shell
$ go run ./cmd/terrad/ keys --keyring-backend kwallet add swelf --pubkey '{"@type":"/cosmos.crypto.secp256k1.PubKey","key":"Ap1W7ww/FaZVpAd487QUVXh7Nmxk4FlREr5IGPuzEnJu"}'
**address "7cc4633deb18c0531b382a50275ad94e05f84580" exists but pubkey itself does not
recreating pubkey record**
- name: swelf
type: offline
address: terra10nzxx00trrq9xxec9fgzwkkefczls3vqkpkjl4
pubkey: '{"@type":"/cosmos.crypto.secp256k1.PubKey","key":"Ap1W7ww/FaZVpAd487QUVXh7Nmxk4FlREr5IGPuzEnJu"}'
mnemonic: ""
```
with notifying user about an issue
2) Asking the user to confirm procedure of restoring public key
3) Just informing user about an issue and do nothing.
I prefer the first way, i do not see a reason when user do not want to fix an issue.

## Description
Very handy to inspect pubkeys that were stored in legacy bech32 format. This is the case for a lot of multisig management.
