When responding to "mempool" message, do not include the txid of an
expiring soon transaction in the "inv" message reply.
When responding to "getdata" message, do not reply with a "tx" message
for a transaction which is expiring soon.
Don't accept transactions which are about to expire (next 3 blocks).
Don't set a ban score if a peer does propragate these transactions.
See ZEC-013 for more detail.
Load sapling chain value into memory
`CBlockIndex::nSaplingValue` has been correctly set and written to disk since before Sapling activated, meaning that all nodes now are correctly tracking the Sapling shielded pool value on-disk. However, on restart the per-block values are not being read into memory, and so the in-memory pool value appears to be zero on every restart. Setting `nSaplingValue` in-memory during block index loading fixes the problem.
3604 fix sapling default memo - 0xF6 plus zeros
Closes#3604. For Sapling outputs, set the default memo to `no_memo` instead of all zeros. (See section 5.5 of the Sapling protocol specification.)
Better error message when sending to both sprout and sapling
When trying to send to both Sprout and Sapling (not currently supported with z_sendmany) we were getting the following error in our operation result: `general exception: boost::bad_get: failed value get using boost::get`.
This PR changes this to fail with a better error message before the async operation begins:

Fix signing raw transactions with unsynced offline nodes
This PR address the issue in two different ways:
- In `signrawtransaction` we determine the consensus branch ID (which we then later use to construct the transaction) using the chain height. We now also consider the `APPROX_RELEASE_HEIGHT` as this is a better estimation than 0 for the height of the chain if we are unsynced. (This in and of itself solves the Overwinter signing issue).
- We have added an additional parameter to `signrawtransaction` to allow manually overriding the consensus branch ID that zcashd determines we are on. This allows users to work around corner cases where the first strategy is still insufficient.
Closes#3327.
Rpc test cleanup
The main purpose of this PR was to inline the method 'wait_for_async_operation_id' from util.py in tests where we were doing this manually. To make it work in all cases, I had to change the method to return the result in the case where the call failed. I also did a bit of general clean up (removing semicolons) in the files which I changed.
Sapling keys generated from the seed are not yet persisted, so we don't
want to persist the seed or chain state either, otherwise the wallet
could end up in an inconsistent state.
Some tests are temporarily disabled because commenting out HDSeed
persistence breaks invariants inside CCryptoKeyStore.
Revert this commit during the PR for #3388.
generalize mininode.py protocol versioning
Fixes#2982 -- replace `overwintered` boolean argument to NodeConn constructor with a protocol version integer, so that adding Sapling (and beyond) will be easier.
Fix absurd fee bug reported in #3281, with tests
This was ported from the Hush `absurd_fee_bug` PR: https://github.com/MyHush/hush/pull/136
Tests executed with `./qa/pull-tester/rpc-tests.sh wallet` and pass on Ubuntu 16.04. Some tests were added for previously untested behavior as well.

Add change indicator
This adds to the json returned when calling z_listreceivedbyaddress and z_listuspent an additional field entitiled 'change' which will be either true or false depending on whether or not the note was change from another transaction.
(rpc-test) accurately account for fee without rounding error
Fix for #2807, this test compares balances after doing key exports and imports, and expects these balances to be equal. But they are not exactly equal due to transaction fees, so the test makes them "equal" by rounding a value that has had fees taken out up to the nearest hundredth of a unit (which is much more than the default fee). This obviously is somewhat sloppy. It also converts a balance to float, which really should never be used due to loss of precision (use Decimal instead).
This change makes the test accurately account for the fee using precise comparisons, and removes the use of float. This test doesn't depend on the default fee (0.0001) but instead sets the fee (to that value). This way, if the default fee changes in the future, this test will continue to run. While testing these changes, I set the fee to various values (up to the max, 0.0190), and the test still passes.
These changes decode valid SIGHASH types on signatures in assembly (asm) representations of scriptSig scripts.
This squashed commit incorporates substantial helpful feedback from jtimon, laanwj, and sipa.
When rewinding, remove insufficiently-validated blocks
If a block is insufficiently-validated against a particular branch ID, then we
cannot guarantee that even the block header will be valid under the actual
consensus rules the node will want to apply. Instead require that the blocks are
completely re-validated, by removing them from the block index (which is
equivalent to reducing their validity to BLOCK_VALID_UNKNOWN).

Ignore -mempooltxinputlimit once Overwinter activates
Overwinter changes the SignatureHash function to solve the quadratic hashing problem, so this option will no longer be needed.
Mempool improvements, branch ID awareness
Whenever the local chain tip is updated, transactions in the mempool which commit to an
unmineable branch ID (for example, just before a network upgrade activates, where the
next block will have a different branch ID) will be removed.
Includes commits cherry-picked from the following upstream PRs:
- bitcoin/bitcoin#6654
- Only the mempool index change.
- bitcoin/bitcoin#6776
- bitcoin/bitcoin#7020

Part of #2074.
Strictly speaking this is not a true deduplication; the test output will be
slightly different (due to inconsistent print statements) but I think this is
close enough.
Track net value entering and exiting the Sprout circuit
Delta values will be stored for new blocks; old blocks can be filled in by
re-indexing. The net value currently in the Sprout circuit is only calculated
when delta values for all previous blocks are present.
Part of #2351.
The mempool was not synced so a block could be generated and not
clear out the mempool. This would then cause subsequent code
which expected the mempool of all nodes to be empty to hang.
The new parameter is to satisfy the principle of least astonishment
by providing a sensible default for the maximum number of transparent
inputs to shield. If users do not configure -mempooltxinputlimit
it is possible for them to create transactions with hundreds of
inputs which suffer from mining delay, due to the current state of
the network where some miners have configured -mempooltxinputlimit
as a way to deal with the problem of quadratic hashing.
Fix bug where performance-measurements.sh fails hards when given no args
Better than "$1: unbound variable", we ran into this when testing this script in the Hush repo, so we are pushing this fix upstream.
[Test] New merge test suite driver script
Running the script with no arguments will run all test stages in succession.
Passing one or more stages as arguments will run just those stages.
Closes#429.
Not moved, because upstream makes improvements to this script, and the need to
set environment variables makes it simpler to just use the given script.
Migrate MiniNode to Zcash
This enables various RPC tests that use it (most of them in the extended test suite) to properly test Zcash code.
The PR also fixes bugs in the BIP65 and BIP66 tests that were both masking and masked by the un-migrated MiniNode.
The Python module `pyblake2` is now a requirement for the RPC tests.

If a bytearray is passed in as part of an iterable, the CScript constructor
fails because b''.join() cannot be used to join a bytearray to a bytes or str in
Python 2.
Importprivkey shows address
Scratching an itch: make `importprivkey` output the corresponding address.
Without this PR, `importprivkey` shows no output. Because we're moving towards an "address-based" RPC interface, rather than "account-based", there's a gap when using `importprivkey` because there's no way to assign it to a specific account, but also no easy way to determine the address. This change fixes that wart.
--nocleanup is sufficient to leave the data directories behind. --noshutdown is
only useful if you want to inspect the nodes afterwards, and you'd need to
manually shut down both nodes before copying the data directories.
Add ability for node to reject tx from mempool by number of tx inputs
Implement short-term solution described in #2343 so that users can respond promptly to critical short-term problems caused by quadratic validation scaling, such as the getblocktemplate latency, block propagation latency, and mempool size inflation issues described in #2333.
Benchmark for calling ConnectBlock on a block with many inputs
Requires placing `block-107134.tar.gz` (containing the block, and a fake CoinsDB containing its inputs) into the base directory of the repository.
To facilitate generation of the fake CoinsDB, an additional field `valuesZat` has been added to `getrawtransaction` containing the integer number of zatoshis instead of a decimal number of ZEC.
Closes#2355.

Python's httplib does not graciously handle disconnections from the http server, resulting in BadStatusLine errors.

JSON makes no distinction between numbers and reals, and our code
doesn't need to do so either.
This removes VREAL, as well as its specific post-processing in
`UniValue::write`. Non-monetary amounts do not need to be forcibly
formatted with 8 decimals, so the extra roundtrip was unnecessary
(and potentially loses precision).

Test prioritisetransaction
After talking with @str4d about #1884 , I wrote a test for prioritisetransaction. It uses small blocks (11kb), and checks whether a transaction makes it into the next block after being prioritized by that node.
Should this be improved with a larger number of txs in the mempool, or by testing over multiple runs?
As for getblocktemplate(), it seems to return the prioritized transaction within the block size set by the node (about 50 txs fit in an 11kb block), but the block "sizelimit" it displays is set at 2 MB in `rpcmining.cpp` line 690:

This was quite confusing, I didn't think the `-blockmaxsize` parameter I was setting was working for awhile.

LicenseInfo is refactored from init.cpp to util.cpp so that the
bitcoin-cli makefile target does not need to be modified.
Closes#1857. Fixes bug where a transaction sending from a zaddr would have a priority of zero.
Transactions sent from a zaddr should now be mined sooner as they no longer have a priority of zero
Issue #1851 shows that a zaddr->taddr can be rejected from mempools
due to not meeting fee requirements given the size of the transaction.
Fee calculation for joinsplit txs has not yet been agreed upon, so
during this interim period, this patch ensures joinsplit txs using
the default fee are not rejected due to an insufficient fee.
Commit 2eeb6b randomized the order of input and output notes,
but this is now known to prevent the chaining of multiple joinsplits
in a single transaction. The root cause has yet to be determined.
This patch is a temporary fix and disables the shuffling of input
and output notes. It also adds a chained joinsplit test to the
python qa test suite.
Add z_sendmany rule that when coinbase utxos must be spent in their entirety, with no change

SelectCoins, used for sending taddr->taddr, will exclude Coinbase coins.
Added qa rpc test and a runtime parameter -regtestprotectcoinbase to enforce
the coinbase->zaddr consensus rule in regtest mode.
Since the parameters changed in z8, the benchmark on speed.z.cash is showing misleading results due to variability. (The quartile and extrema bars will still show the variability with 50 runs, they just won't jump around as much between benchmark data points.)
The genesis blocks and miner tests have been regenerated, because changing the
block header serialisation format changes the block hash, and thus validity.
The Equihash solutions have been removed from the bloom test inputs for
simplicity (block validity is not checked there; only a valid serialisation is
necessary).
Final changes to the circuit
* Remove [redundant](https://github.com/scipr-lab/libsnark/issues/37) bitness constraints that I pointed out in #908.
* The depth is increased from 20 to 29. I chose 29 because the QAP degree ends up being a power of two, which is probably going to be useful for the FFT in our MPC. (Closes#16)
If we're happy with depth 29 (over 268 million possible joinsplits), this will probably be the final change to the constraint system before 1.0.
Run `zcash-gtest` in `make check` and fix performance tests.

This removes the `conflictedbalance.sh` test as well, but that test has
been broken for a long time and isn't part of any scripts.
What it does is, IMO, sufficiently tested by other tests.
This class groups transactions that have been confirmed in blocks into buckets, based on either their fee or their priority. Then for each bucket, the class calculates what percentage of the transactions were confirmed within various numbers of blocks. It does this by keeping an exponentially decaying moving history for each bucket and confirm block count of the percentage of transactions in that bucket that were confirmed within that number of blocks.

script.py is modified from the code in python-bitcoinlib, and provides tools
for manipulating and creating CScript objects.
bignum.py is a dependency for script.py
script_test.py is an example test that uses the script tools for running a test
that compares the behavior of two nodes, in a comptool- style test, for each of
the test cases in the bitcoin unit test script files, script_valid.json and
script_invalid.json. (This test is very slow to run, but is a proof of concept
for how we can write tests to compare consensus-critical behavior between
different versions of bitcoind.)
bipdersig-p2p.py is another example test in the comptool framework, which tests
deployment of BIP DERSIG for a single node. It uses the script.py tools for
manipulating signatures to be non-DER compliant.
comptool.py creates a tool for running a test suite on top of the mininode p2p
framework. It supports two types of tests: those for which we expect certain
behavior (acceptance or rejection of a block or transaction) and those for
which we are just comparing that the behavior of 2 or more nodes is the same.
blockstore.py defines BlockStore and TxStore, which provide db-backed maps
between block/tx hashes and the corresponding block or tx.
blocktools.py defines utility functions for creating and manipulating blocks

invalidblockrequest.py is an example test in the comptool framework, which
tests the behavior of a single node when sent two different types of invalid
blocks (a block with a duplicated transaction and a block with a bad coinbase
value).
mininode.py provides a framework for connecting to a bitcoin node over the p2p
network. NodeConn is the main object that manages connectivity to a node and
provides callbacks; the interface for those callbacks is defined by NodeConnCB.
Defined also are all data structures from bitcoin core that pass on the network
(CBlock, CTransaction, etc), along with de-/serialization functions.
maxblocksinflight.py is an example test using this framework that tests whether
a node is limiting the maximum number of in-flight block requests.
This also adds support to util.py for specifying the binary to use when
starting nodes (for tests that compare the behavior of different bitcoind
versions), and adds maxblocksinflight.py to the pull tester.

This adds a -prune=N option to bitcoind, which if set to N>0 will enable block
file pruning. When pruning is enabled, block and undo files will be deleted to
try to keep total space used by those files to below the prune target (N, in
MB) specified by the user, subject to some constraints:
- The last 288 blocks on the main chain are always kept (MIN_BLOCKS_TO_KEEP),
- N must be at least 550MB (chosen as a value for the target that could
reasonably be met, with some assumptions about block sizes, orphan rates,
etc; see comment in main.h),
- No blocks are pruned until chainActive is at least 100,000 blocks long (on
mainnet; defined separately for mainnet, testnet, and regtest in chainparams
as nPruneAfterHeight).
This unsets NODE_NETWORK if pruning is enabled.
Also included is an RPC test for pruning (pruning.py).

`--nocleanup` should provide a way to preserve test data, but should not have an impact on whether nodes are to be stopped after the test execution.
In particular, when currently running RPC tests with `--nocleanup`, then it may result in several active `bitcoind` processes, which are not terminated properly.
Some tests in CheckBlockIndex require chainActive.Tip(), but when reindexing, chainActive has not been set on the first call to CheckBlockIndex.
reindex.py starts a node, mines 3 blocks, stops, and reindexes with CheckBlockIndex enabled.
